Welcome to the final part of my "Sonic SatAm" review! How to improve "Sonic SatAm" for starters would be to make Antoine competent, being a sly clever plan-maker, and simply a rude rival to Sonic like Geoffrey St. John was in the Archie Sonic comics. Antoine could still be strong, like in the "Other M" comics that Ian Flynn wrote. Also, have Rotor constantly giving the heroes tools like laser guns, rope-shooting cannons, net-shooting-cannons, grappling hooks, and more.
It would also help if every time Antoine does screw up or someone else does, have them get punished for it by their friends, show them cleaning the toilets or something instead of just letting Antoine get away with everything with barely any insults. And then the person who screws up would have to make it up to their friends. Another change that would be beneficial is to make Bunnie, Dulcy, Tails (who can be a mage for originality), and Sonic, be the main focuses on the hero’s side because they’re the most competent. Since Tails would be one of the main characters, his loving brotherly relationship with Sonic would be a regular source of sweet moments.
Having actual continuity from the start kind of like the Archie Sonic comics did while having genuine long-term consequences for things that happen would help too even if it's for something as small as characters being injured for some episodes. Also, I wouldn't mind "Sonic SatAm" having a lot more actual worldbuilding and a little more history with original characters so I actually feel like there’s a unique SatAm World I can be invested in and take seriously, and not just the occasional Wizard Lazaar or monster king. Giving a proper origin to Nicole and Dulcy instantly, making Sally not a constant jerk to Sonic, making Rotor more of a tough guy who really has a personal grudge against Robotnik and Snively, and make Robotnik ENTERTAINING would help a lot out too. In addition, have Robotnik be a goofy target of a joke every so often like when he was bothered by bumblebees EVERY episode, make him a hammy villain laughing maniacally like Snively in the episode "No Brainer," actually having fun with the character. We don't need a BORING overly serious tryhard who just sits in a chair doing no inventing whatsoever.
I respect Robotnik's threatening antagonist ” ruler ” role way more than Eggman's pathetic role in "Sonic X" and the games, but there’s a balance here, he can be a serious threat AND be remotely entertaining. It would’ve been amazing if Sally and Antoine were made cyborgs, too, like what easily could’ve happened. And if Rotor was giving the cyborgs the comic abilities Bunnie had right from the start like an actually competent gadgeteer would do right away like making them able to fly, shoot lasers, create a force field maybe, extendible limbs, etc., that would be awesome! Bunnie only having super strength was EXTREMELY disappointing. Maybe Antoine could cling to walls like Mega Man X or Zero can in Mega Man X games, maybe Sally could make a force-field around herself, or things like that.
It’d be great if characters like Bunnie, Rotor and especially Nicole were just deeper characters in general, with more personality traits, even if it’s something minor like ” they like to binge-watch fantasy films, they eat too many snacks and Rotor tries to lose weight a lot, one can swim, ” etc. Obviously this should extend to Sally, too, she should be like Sally was in the Archie Sonic comics, though keep the gadgeteer part I suppose, but make her the leader and not rude to Sonic constantly. At least some of those things are things that Archie Sonic comics does BETTER like not making Sally a constant jerk to Sonic, having long-term continuity, and world-building along with a little more history with original characters. The biggest problems with "Sonic SatAm" are Antoine and filler. I’d be alright with the filler and see it as harmless downtime if the filler was simply sweet moments between the characters showing their friendship, like Tails being given a kiss in bed by Sally, or moments like when Sonic is holding Antoine after Antoine kissed Sonic's cheeks a lot.
Something like that would be nice and charming and help improve the appeal of "Sonic SatAm" by QUITE A LOT. At least the tone balance was fine in "Sonic SatAm" and wasn't too light-hearted like "AoStH" ("Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog") was or too dark and grim like a lot of Ian Flynn's stories from the Archie Sonic comics and IDW Sonic comics could be. I want Sonic the Hedgehog to be a series that ANY kind of person can enjoy, not just kids and not just teenagers or adults, and that was why I made the criticisms that I did with "Sonic Underground," "AoStH," and "Sonic X!" I can understand if people didn't really like "Sonic Underground," but I don't think it's the worst Sonic cartoon like at least some people think it is. It had some genuine heart and unique things about that show that made it unique from the games, and so does "Sonic SatAm." Well, that's really all I have to say about "Sonic SatAm!" I hope to have a review about "Mega Man X 5" later this month, so take care and I will see you all later:)
