While I DO love at least some Sonic games and some Sonic stories, they CAN and SHOULD BE BETTER!

I love the Sonic the Hedgehog video game franchise and I love a lot of games that involve Sonic. They played a huge role in my childhood, and sure, maybe some games like "Sonic '06" and "Sonic and the Secret Rings" are ones that I consider failures, but I want the Sonic franchise to succeed and I want the very best for it like a concerned parent would like for his or her children. I want Sonic's franchise to succeed. I played "Sonic Colors Ultimate" on the Xbox One and Nintendo Switch, and sure, it might not be as glitchy as I've seen when I played it (I played it with the patches), but it had zero excuses to have the glitches that it did on release day! What I do know is that I don't want badly-rushed games of poor or not great quality like "Sonic '06" was about 15 years ago, "Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric" about 7 years ago, or even "Sonic Forces" about 4 years ago.

Plus I don't want absolutely atrocious writing quality either like I got from "Sonic Colors," "Sonic Lost World," or "Sonic Forces" if a story is going to be in a Sonic game! I don't think Sonic has to be just a cocky hedgehog who spouts quips; I don't think Amy Rose has to just be a fangirl of Sonic; Tails can be more than just a guy who likes making machines. Does anyone remember the plot of "Sonic Adventure 1?" I LOVED how Amy was characterized in that game because she WASN'T just a fangirl of Sonic; she was a sweet girl who cared for an injured bird, she reasoned with E-102 Gamma and saved his life, plus after a robot injured the bird she was carrying with her, Amy stood up to the robot like a champ! In "Sonic Adventure 2," Shadow didn't try to beat Sonic because he thought of himself as superior to Sonic; he did it because Sonic was trying to save the world when in Shadow's eyes, the world was guilty of killing his best friend Maria!

Tails doesn't have to be a coward who only relies on Sonic either like he did in "Sonic Forces," either. "Sonic Adventure" and "Sonic Adventure 2" prove that, especially "Sonic Adventure 2," plus Tails doesn't have to just be a smart guy. Knuckles doesn't have to be an idiot; he was actually at least kind of smart like "Sonic 3 and Knuckles" and "Sonic Adventure 2" proved. I just want Sonic writers to understand that some people don't just play Sonic games just because we want a good Sonic game to play, but also because some Sonic fans want lovable characters and at least some enjoyable writing, and I'm one of such fans who desires all of those things if a story is going to be involved in a game of Sonic! I don't like it when Amy is a jerk to her friends by yelling at them or trying to beat them up like in "Sonic Rush" or "Sonic and the Black Knight!" I think Sonic saying stupid lines like "Baldy McNosehair" or "no copyright law in the universe is going to stop me" is unacceptable!

And I don't want Tails being a jerk to Sonic when Sonic doesn't deserve it like what happened in "Sonic Lost World!" But I can provide some constructive criticism, and I can prove it for stories involving Sonic and his friends. First off, don't make Amy a jerk to her friends or Sonic and don't have Amy want to beat up people like Cream or Sonic. Only have Amy attack her enemies!

Don't make Tails a jerk to Sonic, don't make Tails a coward, and don't just make him a genius who says stupid things like "I made a TV out of paper clips" or "I reprogrammed a supercomputer using dishwashing detergent and a toothpick." Have him have sweet moments with Sonic. Get rid of Dr. Eggman (seriously, I'm sick of him being a villain!!!)!!! Replace Eggman with villains whom aren't only evil, but ones that can be funny, charming, and competent! Also, I want the heroes to be competent and lovable characters, too! Have some nice friendship moments like what happened in Archie Sonic comic #179 when Sonic apologized to Tails or in Archie Sonic comic #246 when Sonic and Amy hugged each other.

Try to do some world-building and try to make characters like Amy, Sonic, and Tails deep, try to have the characters take themselves and the situations seriously, and try to have a good story-telling tone balance like "Sonic Adventure 2" or "Sonic SatAm" did. Also, have a villain like Eggman or Zavok explain WHY they're evil. If you can do all of that along with trying to make a good Sonic story, then I think that you'll have a recipe for success! At least some of those things that I mentioned were things that the Archie Sonic comics did better (seriously, even the "Mega Man Zero" series didn't have one major villain; it had at least two with one being Copy X, another being Dr. Weil, another being Elpizo, and one being Omega!!!).
