Hey guys, I'm Neil, and sorry for not posting in a while. Forgive me for that. By the way, before I talk about some Archie Sonic comics that I kind of grew up, I figured that before that, I might as well talk about a Sonic cartoon that has never been discussed by me before in depth, and that would be "Sonic Boom!" This "Sonic Boom" show has Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, and Amy alongside a new character named Sticks the Badger trying to fight off Eggman and his assistants Orbot and Cubot. Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, and Amy have been redesigned by quite a bit, especially Knuckles. Personally, I'm not too offended by Sonic having blue arms; I think that's pretty stupid to blow a gasket over, but I don't think that Sonic, Tails, Knuckles and Amy needed a lot of sports tape, plus Knuckles didn't need to be so darn muscular! I have heard some people complain about Eggman's design in "Sonic Boom," but I actually kind of like it; it kind of suits him.

Alright, now that ALL OF THAT is discussed, I'm going to discuss more of the things I like and the things I don't like. First off, while I do appreciate that Amy's being given some talents like cooking and arts and crafts, why can't someone else like KNUCKLES, STICKS, or TAILS have such talents, too?!? I don't think that ONLY GIRLS have to be talented with arts and crafts and cooking; I've made Oreo pies plenty of times, plus I can bake or reheat some frozen pizza or frozen chicken strips just fine! Sonic as a character is OK sometimes, but why does he act like such a tired grump who hates adventure at least sometimes?!? The Sonic I know from "Sonic Adventure 2," Sonic Heroes," and even most Archie Sonic comics is a fun-loving hedgehog who would LOVE adventure!

There are SOME episodes where I can feel sorry for Sonic, and I'll get to those later. Sometimes, in "Sonic Boom," I do love it when Sonic shows concern for Tails like when Tails gets into Sonic's arms when Tails gets scared in one episode of lightning or when Tails chokes on something because Sonic IS supposed to be one of Tails's best friends. If Sonic and Tails show up in any continuity, that NEEDS to be a constant thing unless maybe there's a justified reason for a strain on the friendship. "Sonic Lost World" DID NOT HAVE THAT at ALL because Tails should have REALIZED that the partnership he and Sonic had with Eggman in "Sonic Lost World" was TEMPORARY! Alright, sorry for that tangent; I just needed to try to make a point, and that point is, I don't mind if a rift in a friendship happens in fiction, but it needs to be justified.

Tails at least sometimes is fine as a character, though sometimes he can be either be a nice and innocent kid, a jerk, or very smug, and I don't like when he's any of the latter two. I don't like it when Tails treats Sonic roughly because Tails isn't Eggman! Comedic sociopathy is probably something you'd expect out of modern SpongeBob SquarePants episodes, not Sonic the Hedgehog! Also, there's one episode called "Do Not Disturb" that REALLY enrages me because Sonic and Tails were arguing with each other for no good reason, Sonic was being a slob, and they were being horrible to each other! I don't recall ONE SINGLE INSTANCE in the Sonic series where Sonic was a slob except in the "Sonic SatAm" episode where he was in Antoine's house for a bit, but it made sense since he hated Antoine!

I don't see ANY good reason for Sonic to really hate Tails unless maybe Tails is being too rough on experimenting with Sonic because THEN that might be a good reason for conflict. But even then, why would Tails WANT to treat Sonic roughly?!? It's not like Sonic killed his parents or anything! Also, why would Sonic say that he'd be uncomfortable HUGGING Tails?!? At least Tails IS one of the more likable characters, though, and he's not as bad as Knuckles or Amy can be. Stick around for part 2 of my analysis of "Sonic Boom."
